Description of Material |
|
|
|
Both HD-10S and HD-10H are both a precipitation hardened
special copper alloy just like beryllium copper and
titanium copper; it is a special copper alloy with
hardness and strength close to steel. Their features
are: |
|
HD-10S : |
This alloy excels in strength, wear resistance and
corrosion resistance compared to other copper alloys;
a special copper alloy with a rich gold color. |
|
HD-10H : |
This alloy has the same chemical components as HD-10S
but by changing the composition rates this special
copper alloy is stronger with higher wear resistance,
corrosion resistance and strong spring properties. |
|
-What
is precipitation hardening ?
|
Precipitation hardening is the heat treating
of metallic compounds that have become
supersaturated solid solution by quenching.
Then, it is dispersion precipitated through
aging (tempering) and the hardening that
occurs in this process is known as precipitation
hardening. |

Processing Properties (Applicable to HD-10S and HD-10H) |
|
|
|
Item |
Details |
Casting |
Good for all casting methods, including sand
casting, continuous sand casting, precision casting
(lost wax) etc. It has good flowability during
casting and creates minimal pinholes. |
Forging |
Good for hot, warm and cold forging. Excellent
cold workability,
perticularly in high-speed and high-pressure pressure molding. |
Bending / Drawing /
Spinning /
Machining |
Good processing properties for all 4 items.
Hardly any burrs occur in the drawing process,
and deep drawing is easily achieved. |
Plating / Soldering /
Etching / Welding |
Good
for all 4 items. Particularly in welding, hardly
any color change is identified after welding.
This is a characteristic
specific to this alloy that does not apply to other copper alloys. |
